Summer of ’69. By Bryan Adams and Me.
I do not own a six string
I do not shop at the five & dime.
I don’t do anything until my fingers bleed, except maybe photocopy at work. Am kind of clumsy.
And it’s not the summer of ’69.
I’m gonna skip this whole verse about guys named Jody getting married, because it makes no sense.
oh, when i look back now
this summer didn’t last long enough, basically
And if I had the choice
Yeah. I’d always wanna be there
Those were the best days of my life.
And he’s right, there ain’t no use in complaining
when you’ve got a job to do, especially at 8:30 every morning.
luckily I spent no evenings at any drive-ins
so that’s not where I met you. :)
Standin’ on your mama’s porch
You told me I could crawl in the window, but I didn’t want to!
oh and when you held my hand
I knew that it was now or never
those were the best days of my life. really.
you know, i don’t think we were killin’ time.
yes young, maybe sorta restless,
we needed to unwind
this bit about forever? forever? maybe.
and now the times are changing
look at everyone who’s come and gone
sometimes when I stare at the walls (because i’m better at than than “playin’ the six string”)
I think about you. : ) Don’t wonder what went wrong.
Standin’ on your mama’s porch
You tried to get me to stay for another episode of law and order.
Oh and when you held my hand
I knew that it was now or never, though i didn’t stay.
Those were the best days of my life
You know, a few weeks ago :)
