could it have been milk preparing for the nostralas exitus? If it were a Coke product the bubbles interfear with brain matter, cleaning the lower areas but leaving a ring of sticky sugary brown goo. Like the remains of a root beer float that sat in the glass a bit too long.
A booger would be too easy

this is amazing and hilarious. i spent a weekend looking at composite photos in which i had a lazy eye, so i feel your pain.
